Close Call: My Photograph Featured in The Guardian’s “This Week in Wildlife”

I’m excited to share that one of my recent wildlife photographs was published in The Guardian’s This Week in Wildlife feature. The image captures a snowy egret in a tense moment, narrowly avoiding an alligator’s attempt to snatch it from the water in Naples, Florida.

Capturing the Moment

While photographing in the wetlands, I was focused on snowy egrets— flying through the water in search of small fish. But in an instant, the scene changed—a submerged alligator lunged toward an egret.

I love the egret’s expression and the position of its wings as it escaped. The quick reaction, combined with the beautiful spread of its feathers, made for a striking moment.
