An anhinga struggles to swallow a fish that may be too big for it at Lake Eola Park in Orlando, Florida. Photo: Ronen Tivony
I’m happy to share that my wildlife photograph of an anhinga attempting to swallow a large fish has been published in the Saarbrücker Zeitung, a major German daily newspaper. The image is currently leading the “Animals of the Day” photo gallery for October 14, 2025.
Anhingas are expert hunters, known for their skillful fishing techniques and distinctive snake-like movements as they catch and swallow their prey.
Being featured internationally is always an honor, and having my work recognized by a respected publication like the Saarbrücker Zeitung is really rewarding. Wildlife photography is about more than just capturing animals, it’s about telling stories from the natural world that engage, educate, and inspire people everywhere.
You can view the full gallery on Saarbrücker Zeitung’s website, where my photograph leads the collection of striking wildlife images for the day.
